The Department of Information Technology was started in the year 2001 with the intake of 60 students. From year 2019-20 department has offering B. Tech. in Computer Science & Information Technology. The department has got two years of Accreditation by NBA (National Board of Accreditation) in the academic year 2013-14. The Department has well experienced faculties from academia. Faculty members are encouraged to enhance their qualifications, by participating in higher studies and research activities. The department promotes research in Machine Learning, Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, Blockchain, Cyber Security.

The Information Technology Department has made commendable progress in a short span of the past few years. Our students are pursuing their higher studies (MS and Ph.D.) at prestigious places like Michigan University USA. The renowned IT firms like Atlas Copco, Accenture, ABS, Bentley, Emtec, KPIT, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Persistent, Quality Kiosk, Sudherland Global Services etc., have recruited our students through campus interviews.

The department runs students association CSITE, professional chapters like IEEE, ISTE and departmental clubs like AI/ML, Android for the overall growth of the students. Under Android club total 65 Android apps are developed and deployed on the Google Play store.

Department has active MoU with reputed organizations like PRISTINE Info Solution Pvt. Ltd., Pune for certifications, internship in cyber security, Emtec Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Pune to develop expertise in the area of cyber security, machine learning, IoT and support for internship. Also department has collaborated with various industries like EXPERTEZE, USA, XENSTACK LLC, USA for providing training programs in bioinformatics, computational neural network, Deepsagar Agro Enviro Services Pvt. Ltd., Sangli for providing training programs and sponsored projects in the field of agriculture applications, Softron Technology, Kolhapur for providing internship and sponsored projects. Infosys Limited, Bangalore for Infosys springboard certifications of student and faculty. Indeed Inspiring Infotech, Pune and Walstar, Kolhapur for providing internship and sponsorship project.
