First Year Engineering Department (Sciences and Humanities Department)
The department of first year engineering is comprised of essential basic science courses and other fundamental engineering courses including open electives with foreign languages like German and Japanese languages. The department is committed to its basic principles of imparting knowledge and preparing the students towards achieving academic excellence through attainment of core competence in basic sciences, humanities and engineering courses. The department has a team of highly qualified, experienced faculty members with proven skills in their respective fields and state-of-the art infrastructure for learning and development of students. The department has well-furnished classrooms and equipped laboratories and facilities required for practicals of respective subjects and will be helpful for enhancing different skills of students handling various instruments. The English Language Laboratory assists students in improving their linguistic skills. Activities like individual and group presentations, situational conversations and software based assistance to enhance soft skills. Department of first year engineering is also actively involved in pursuing various research activities. The department has good quality research papers in peer reviewed national, international journals and conferences. The departmental faculty members are always attending the various courses like FDP, workshops, seminars, trainings and national and international conferences to upgrade and enhance their knowledge in their respective subjects.
The department is always involved in arranging and conducting student centered activities for their overall development and enhancing skills of learning. The following practices and activities are regularly conducted at department.
