Message by Head of Program

The Department of Automobile Engineering (Presently Automotive Technology) of Rajarambapu Institute of Technology offers a post-graduate program in Automotive Technology i.e. M.Tech. Automotive Technology. The post-graduate program started in 2010 has an intake capacity of 18 and the program has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi. The candidates having non-zero GATE score (14 seats) and having industry experience of at least 2 years (4 seats) are eligible to take the admission. The reason why one should prefer to pursue post-graduate studies at Automobile Engineering Department are; state-of-the-art laboratories, excellent research environment, conducive and student centred academic practices and good industry-institute interaction. 

The curriculum of the program is designed in line with the industry needs, and the teaching - learning process has an emphasis on achievement of graduate attributes by the students. The laboratories of the department are equipped with physical and virtual testing facilities necessary for post-graduate studies and doctoral research. Almost 50 % of the faculty members have completed their doctoral research and there is a provision of in-house research funding to post-graduate students. This ultimately helps to develop a good research culture in the department which has resulted into quality research publications and completion of in-house and externally funded research projects. 

The department has better connect with the industries which helps to make the opportunities available for sponsored projects and placements in reputed industries and research organizations. The passed out graduates of the program are working in reputed industries, research organizations and some of them have completed their doctoral research. The names of few industries are Cummins India Ltd., Pune, Greaves Cotton, Cooper Corporation, Satara, ARAI, Pune, VRDE Ahmednagar, Piaggio Baramati, Tenneco Automotive India Ltd., Pune, Umicore Autocat India Ltd., Shirwal etc.
